A RECIPE FOR LUCID DREAM TRAVEL
I wanted to share with you an observation I made about dream travel or astral (lucid) projection this past weekend. If you want, try it out!
This past Sunday I took a late afternoon nap. I’m not a usual nap taker but when my body can’t shake that sleepy feeling a power 15 or 20 minute nap usually does the trick. You know the type where you lay in one position, your body becomes so, so heavy and before you know it you wake up feeling recharged!
I’ve come to find out in these times I need to get my physical self out of the way to repair or charge my energetic self or to go gather knowledge throughout the cosmos. It’s like an emergency council meeting is being called! :)
So, back to Sunday. I became aware in a dream that I was dreaming. I was walking on a college campus when a man walked by me and said, “Hey! I recognize you from Salem!” hahaha. No doubt, I thought! I briefly came out of the dream, knew I was in my bed but consciously decided to go to another place to explore. Boom, there I was in Egypt. Both of these places had a solid reality to me.
As I finally decided to wake up, I kept my eyes closed and went through not only all the places I visited but how it felt to go from one place to another. It felt like I left my physical body, walked through my bedroom wall but instead of being outside my house I was in a different time, place and reality.
I realized it wasn’t a thought that got me there but a feeling!
Here is my dream travel recipe:
When you get ready to sleep feel what it is like to sit next to someone you love very deeply. Imagine perhaps having dinner with this person and the feeling of being totally locked on in conversation. Now pay attention to how you feel in your heart. Imagine no words need to be said and focus on the feeling of love and contentment you have for the other. Now, let that feeling expand as you drift off with the intention of visiting a place, a person or an experience and see what happens. I tried it again last night and sure enough I went to where I intended. I hope you have fun with this. Travel well!
