4 Ways To Find Your Tribe

If you feel lonely, or misunderstood by your current group of friends or partner, then it’s time to find your “tribe.”

Your tribe consists of like-minded people who understand you. They can be friends, business partners, or your romantic partner. They are gentle and respectful to you, and would never make fun of you. For that reason, you feel comfortable being yourself around your tribe members.

When you’re with your tribe, there’s no shame or embarrassment about yourself, because they support your positive healthy dreams and actions. They love you as you are, and they help you to be an even better version of your true self. There’s no need to pretend, or try to please. Your tribe enjoys being with you, especially the more that you are your authentic self, as I wrote about in my book Assertiveness for Earth Angels.

So where are these lovely people? How do you find them? Here are 4 ways:
 1. Be yourself. The only way to find your tribe is to be your authentic self when you’re with other people and trust in the law of attraction. Your tribe will enjoy and love the genuine YOU, not some counterfeit version that you put on publicly. So, relax and stop trying so hard to please others or make them like you. Don’t twist yourself for others’ approval. Don’t pretend to like something if you don’t. If someone is from your tribe, they’ll enjoy your realness. If they’re not your tribe, they’ll fall away from your life… leaving space for your real tribe members to fill.

2. Become a joiner. You can find like-minded people at places dedicated to activities that you naturally enjoy. Doing activities that you love with other people creates a bond of shared experiences. For example, if you love photography, join a photography class or club. Love hiking? There are hiking clubs in most towns. Adore spiritual books? There’s a book club waiting for you. You can find interesting groups and classes on meetups.com, or create your own group on the website. If religion or spirituality is important to you, then frequently attend services, classes, and get-togethers related to your beliefs.

3. Be charitable. The social and environmental issues that are dear to you, are also dear to your tribe members. So, join a local charity dedicated to supporting this cause. You’ll meet lots of caring people, who put their spiritual principles into action. When I did a reading on my Hay House Radio show recently for a woman who wanted to know, “Where are all the spiritual men?” the angels said that you could find men with spiritual hearts at charity events. The angels said these men aren’t necessarily religious or “new age” in their spirituality, but that they are living the spiritual principles of charity, generosity, thoughtfulness, and so forth.

4. Say hello from your heart. Once you attend these meetings and groups, pray for the courage to introduce yourself and talk. To turn acquaintances into friends or a romantic partner, there needs to be an energy exchange and conversation. As you invite more spiritually minded people into your life, then conversations and actions become more heart-centered and gentle, in respect for the sensitivity for those on the spiritual path. So, speak from your heart, and be sure to give space for listening to the other person, too.

As we grow wiser and more spiritually minded, our interests naturally change. We become more sensitive to other people’s energies, actions, and words. So, we may grow apart from people with whom we previously shared previous interests. Life is too short to spend it with people who drain your energy, or who have little in common with you. Put your time and focus into building relationships that are mutually supportive with people you can count upon.

Here’s a prayer to help you:

“Dear God,

Thank you for guiding me to friendships that are healthy, trustworthy, and supportive of the real self that You created within me. Thank you, Creator, for helping me to have the courage to meet and maintain loving relationships. Thank you for helping me to love myself as You love me, and to be my authentic self when I’m with other people.”

For more information on living authentically, and being real in relationships, please read Assertiveness for Earth Angels here. I’ve also created a video course about assertiveness, that you can watch on your mobile devices at your own schedule here. The course even allows you to become a Certified Assertiveness Coach at no extra cost, to help others learn how to find their voice. And if you want to take your assertiveness to an even deeper level, please join author Nancy Levin and myself in Maui this October, for a relaxing and empowering Assertiveness Retreat. I've been on this rollercoaster for a LOT of years & it continues to excite, amaze & scare me! Spirituality is a process- we're never "done" - This blog is a sharing of ideas to help one another grow.
All these messages are the product of thoughts, meditations, & guided   synchronicities.  Intuitively I just know what I am supposed to do or write & when... I don't over-think it, I just go with it - I can read it later, but I'll know it's divinely purposed if it comes back to Hartbridge bearing fruit in helping
    you.
